Take a Screenshot on iPhone Models with Face ID

Apple has slightly tweaked the process of capturing screenshots on iPhone models with Face ID such as iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max. So, if you have upgraded from classic iPhones to modern ones, the new button combination might require a bit of time from you to get used to.

Press the side button and the volume up button at once to take a screenshot on your Face ID-equipped iPhones.

Once you have snapped the screen, a thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the lower-left corner of the screen. You can now tap the thumbnail to open it or swipe left to dismiss it. To access the screenshots, head over to Photos app -> Recents. Alternately, Photos app > Albums -> Screenshots.

Press the top button and the home button at the same and then release both the buttons.

For this functionality, you will need to turn the AssistiveTouch into a dedicated screenshot tool. That means you can’t use this Accessibility feature for other actions.

  1. Navigate to the Settings app on your iPhone -> Accessibility -> Touch -> AssistiveTouch and then turn on the toggle.

Use Third-Party Apps to Capture Scrolling Screenshots on iPhone

If you need more manual control for taking scrolling screenshots on iOS, I would recommend you check out Picsew (free, in-app purchases) or Tailor (free, in-app purchases). They are easy to use and allow to snap scrolling screenshots with the desired control. Though steps are almost the same for both apps, I’m going to walk you through the steps using Tailor.

Open the Tailor app, and allow the app to access your Photos app. Make sure to let it access all of your photos so that it can stitch them all without any hindrance.

  1. Now, head over to the content that you want to share and then take overlapping screenshots. With an overlapping screenshot, I mean keeping the end of the first screenshot at the start of the second to help the app merge them.
  2. Next, launch Tailor, and the app will automatically recognize the screenshots and stitch them into a long screenshot. After that, tap the Share button and then either save it to the desired location or share it with friends using a preferred app.

How to Edit Screenshots on iPhone
